The Pioneers everyday essential

Undergarments were traditionally worn to protect the wearer’s skin from abrasive clothes and offered no insulation as a layering piece. Typically, gentlemen or noblemen wore more outerwear for cooler climates, but this was not an option for the less fortunate. Soon, the working-class adopted tunics, which is believed to be where the vest originated.

Fast forward 100s of years, and the vest is now a versatile layer worn as an undergarment with shirts. The sleeveless garment gives the wearer freedom of movement and is less bulky than a heavy cotton T-Shirt.

INTRODUCING

Over the last 12 months, we developed the ‘Essentials Range’. A collection of undergarments made from cotton and something our Pioneers have been asking for over the years.

We are proud to introduce our first piece from the collection, our white vest. Like the Henley Shirt or Waistcoat, the vest is a cornerstone of the British Wardrobe.
