A TRIBUTE TO THE INTREPID MOUNTAIN EXPLORERS

Our Founder, Phil, collaborated closely with a distinguished UK sheepskin manufacturer to craft a garment that captures the spirit of the '70s while remaining in line with the &SONS aesthetic. The result: a limited-edition Shearling Jacket born from the soul of adventure.

As the temperature drops, our creativity with style grows. It's the season of layers and experimentation, and it begins with the perfect shearling jacket.

"Please use the specific size guide below to ensure your jacket is the perfect fit.

Please Note: All measurements are taken flat. All measurements are garment measurements NOT body measurements. Due to the thickness of sheepskin, the garment measurements may look larger than our usual sizing."

Introducing The ASPEN Shearling Jacket – From the backs of brave military officers to the hunters and ranchers of rugged mountain passes, the sheepskin coat has always been a warm and dependable companion. The timeless elegance of shearling has also been favoured by music and film icons, and we are proud to introduce our take on this legendary design.

Each jacket is handcrafted in Somerset, making these the most exclusive jackets we have ever made. We have paid homage to the originals, complete with leather buttons, heavy stitching details and boasting those iconic lapels revealing the soft, warm 100% French merino sheepskin lining.  This shearling jacket is an ideal blend of leather and insulation.

We are unable to accept any customer discounts on this piece due to extremely limited quantities.

ORIGINS

In the early 20th century, shearling jackets became a symbol of warmth and durability, first gaining prominence during World War I, where they were worn by military personnel stationed in freezing conditions. The natural insulation of shearling, made from lambskin with the wool intact, made these coats ideal for soldiers enduring harsh climates.

By the 1930s, shearling jackets were embraced by adventurers, hunters, and ranchers for their rugged practicality. Hunters navigating the wilderness and ranchers working in cold, early mornings relied on the warmth and toughness of these jackets, solidifying their place as essential rural workwear.

After World War II, shearling jackets transitioned into pop culture, worn by style icons. Though they became a symbol of rebellion and style, their practical roots as reliable, hard-wearing outerwear remained intact.

From military use to rural life and the silver screen, shearling jackets have endured for over a century, beloved for their warmth, durability, and timeless appeal.
