The Saw Tooth Shirt pulls its character straight from the early Western pioneers - people who needed clothing that worked as hard as they did. We’ve taken that heritage and given it a sharper, darker edge for the modern day. Cut from overdyed black denim, the fabric has weight, texture and a depth that only gets better with time. As it softens and fades through wear, the look becomes unmistakably yours.

Every detail earns its place. Double pointed saw tooth pocket flaps — originally shaped to stay closed on horseback. A Western yoke built for strength across the shoulders. Matte black snaps for quick fastening. Reinforced elbow patches for long days at the bench or in the workshop. Hidden features like the pencil pocket and secret cuff pocket bring quiet utility, staying true to that make-it-practical mindset without disturbing the aesthetic.

The Sawtooth shirt traces its roots to the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when cowboys, ranch hands, and railroad workers needed durable, functional clothing built for life on the American frontier. Its distinctive pointed “sawtooth” pocket flaps helped keep essentials secure while riding and quickly set the shirt apart from everyday workwear. As Western culture surged in the 1930s and ’40s – fuelled by rodeos, travelling shows, and Hollywood’s rising stars – figures like Gene Autry brought the Sawtooth shirt into the spotlight, blending authenticity with showmanship. By the 1950s, it had become an enduring symbol of the American West, celebrated for its rugged practicality and unmistakable heritage.
