We’ve been tempted by instant gratification for too long and we need to remember that some things require love and attention... and that takes time. Looking after your garments will help add years to its’ life and make them worth your investment! Here is our ultimate guide to looking after your knitwear...
Avoid using bleach or fabric softeners and resist the urge to wring or twist the garment.
Instead, hand wash or machine wash on a delicate cycle, with cold water and a mild detergent. Lay the garment flat to dry or reshape it and hang it to dry. To maintain the best look of knitwear, it is best to wash it as little as possible and when it is necessary.
Wool has natural, antibacterial properties so you only need to spot cleaning unless it gets properly dirty.
As the age-old saying goes “buy cheap, buy twice”. Investing in your wardrobe, not only means you’ll have long-lasting clothes but the chances are, more care went into the creation.
After time your knitwear can form ‘bobbles’. The official name for this is ‘pilling’ and it occurs when a fabric is made from short fibres.
Through the general wear and tear of life, these fibres are brought to the surface of your garment and form these bobbles.
